I am currently undergoing a year of research into Dance Dramaturgy and developing tools and techniques for cultivating critical creative environments for artists. This includes periods of shadowing experts, training and delivering. I am incorporating my experience in choreography, ‘crits’ in art school and skills as mentor/facilitator/host. The funding from Creative Scotland enables me to pay myself to be a critical outside eye to Scotland-based artists during their devising or rehearsal periods; to discover how to best hold space for artists to interrogate their ideas, tailor a suitable critical framework and offer hospitable support where appropriate.
